Theo Theoharis

Professor Theo Theoharis gives an online talk entitled "The Narrative Art of Homer." Professor Theoharis' most recent work is a translation from Greek of the poems of Constantine Cavafy. In addition to his book Before Time Could Change Them: The Complete Poems of Constantine P. Cavafy, he is the author of James Joyce's Ulysses: An Anatomy of the Soul and Ibsen's Drama: Right Action and Tragic Joy. A graduate of Williams College, Professor Theoharis has taught at Berkeley, MIT and Harvard where he has received awards for outstanding teaching of undergraduates. He has lectured throughout Europe and the United States and has also taught many outstanding seminars for both Teachers as Scholars and The Examined Life: Greek Studies in the Schools. Jill Paton Walsh

Distinguished British author and lecturer Jill Paton Walsh gives a live talk from Cambridge, England. Several of her novels and stories are inspired by Greek history, including Farewell Great King and Children of the Fox. Her novels Torch and Knowledge of Angels have been translated into Greek. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and winner of the prestigious British CBE Award for her contributions to literature. Jill Paton Walsh is an adjunct board member of Children’s Literature New England.
